Description:
The Cincinnati/Hamilton County Continuum of Care for the Homeless, Inc. operates the Central Access Point (CAP) program. CAP is a telephone service that serves as the intake point for several important local programs.
CAP:
-
handles the placement of homeless families into the Cincinnati Family Emergency Shelters (Bethany House, the Interfaith Hospitality Network, Salvation Army, Mercy Franciscan-St. Johns).

screens callers for domestic violence and, if appropriate, transfers such calls to the YWCA Domestic Violence Hotline for possible placement into protective shelter.

handles intake services for the Mt. Airy Shelter, a 65 bed shelter for single men which is operated by Talbert House.

handles screening & referral into the Salvation Army Family Homelessness Prevention Program.

handles screening and referral of households in need of homelessness prevention services which are funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

takes calls related to family emergency shelters and homelessness prevention from 10am-8pm Monday through Friday, and from 10am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
