Prepare for 2015 Medicare open enrollment

Do you need accurate, unbiased information about Medicare and the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit? Get the answers you need by attending one of the Medicare Check-up days presented by the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).

October 15 – December 7, 2015 is Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment period. During open enrollment, current Medicare recipients and people who are new to Medicare can review and update their Medicare plan, including Part D prescription drug coverage. Attending one of the local check-up events is an opportunity to assess your situation and verify that your current Medicare coverage is meeting your needs. Even if you are satisfied with your current Medicare plan, it's still a good idea to review your plan and coverage options for 2016 because drug formularies, provider networks, and plan benefits can change from year to year.

At the Check-up Day events, attendees will learn about recent Medicare changes, such as new deductibles, co-pay, and coinsurance amounts, the Medicare Advantage and Part D plan options (beginning in October), and about financial assistance programs, including Part B premium savings and extra help with prescription costs.
